Dortas-T - Eye Drops

Dortas-T PF brings together two medications that lower eye pressure through different, complementary pathways. Dorzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that works by directly reducing the production of aqueous humor, the fluid inside the eye, while Timolol, a beta-blocker, works through a related but distinct pathway to further decrease this fluid production. Together, these two mechanisms provide more effective pressure reduction than either medication alone might achieve, making this combination useful for patients who need additional control beyond a single agent. Being a preservative-free (PF) formulation, it is especially well suited for patients with sensitive eyes or those who experience irritation with preservative-containing eye drops, supporting more comfortable long-term use. It is commonly prescribed for open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension, where reducing eye pressure helps protect the optic nerve and preserve vision over time.
